Written by Lois Lumbra—HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!! Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas, and filled up with all the goodies of the season and ready to get going on the tread mill. (Just kidding) My tread mill will be shoveling snow if it continues to come our way. I know of three families that attend our Church enjoyed their Christmas with family in other states. John and Sharon Youland were in Florida; Kort and Sherrie Gentry and daughter Brook were in Michigan; Katherine and Howard King went to Connecticut. Klaus and Ann Voos were delighted to have their son and family home during the Christmas season for a great holiday visit.
12/20, The “Candles and Carols” event held at Pratt Hall, had a full house. It was a wonderful evening with Steve Hays playing his electric organ and leading the Hymn Sing, special stories, and others taking part in the evening. Refreshments of hot cider and cookies are always favored.
12/23-30/15, Lorraine St. Onge came up from her Southern home in Deltona, Florida to celebrate Christmas with her family. She so enjoys watching her grandchildren open their gifts and their excitement of getting what they wanted Santa to bring them. While Lorraine was here we got our first snow storm, so she got to see snow before returning back to Florida.
12/24, Our daughter Veronica came over bringing her daughter Samantha Royer and her three children. My goodness how our great-grand-Children have grown, Jayden is 16 and has a permit to drive, Shane is 13 and Natalie will be 10 in June. Veronica left here and took the whole family to St.Albans shopping, that was quite an experience as all the children wanted to spend their Christmas money. (???) They had fun and grammie Veronica, slept well that night.
12/25, The United Methodist Church Christmas Eve Candlelight Service was well attended and just to hear the many voices singing Christmas Songs was music to my ears. How great it would be to have that many people each Sunday to come and worship with us. Think of it as, “Oh Come Let Us Adore Him” each Sunday.
As I finish this column the storm is slowly coming in, the snow is getting heavier, suppose to be much colder Monday morning, as the children all head back to school.
Happy Birthday to: Doris Buttendorf, Kalle Mae Holowaty 1/3, Ronnie Sylvester ¼, Kathie King 1/5, By not having a column last week these few people have already celebrated and I hope it was a great day for each of you. Lisa Cennemo 1/9, Michael Deuso 1/11, Brenda Ostrout 1/12, Sue Cherrier & Lillian Robtoy 1/13, Charlotte Deuso, Elizabeth Davidson, Christina Youland (21) 1/14, Moriah Eaton 1/15, Carolina Daberer 1/16.
