It’s nearing 3 p.m. and looking out toward West Hill looks like another little rain shower coming our way. It has been rather cool today, but won’t complain as we need the rain. It will be a busy week as our Church Rummage and Bake Sale will be held this Saturday. We have lots and lots of things donated to us, just hope we have a good turn-out to make purchases. Thanks to all that have donated!!!
9/30..There were around 160 plus senior citizens that attended the Turkey Dinner Special at the “Crossing Restaurant.” The Country Band the “Deuces Wild” played and sang familiar songs that everyone seemed to enjoy dancing and singing along. It was a wonderful time and many of us ladies attended were Red Hat Sister’s and I brought along Kate O’Neal as she wants to join our group. While I was there I noticed a familiar face that used to be here in Montgomery, Charlotte Mercy, so I went and talked with her as she now resides at the “Franklin Homestead” in Franklin and with her was a friend Barbara Cutting. They spoke well of this column and told me how very much they enjoyed it and to Charlotte it keeps Montgomery dear to her heart. That is so pleasing to hear and I’m glad that they so enjoy this column, it makes it all worth while. God Bless You Ladies!!
Connie McFarland went Saturday to visit her daughter Jane and hubby Joe Sanpetrino of So. Burlington and enjoyed their decorated home; then she went to stay overnight with daughter Nancy and Craig Benson in Underhill and returned home on Sunday.
Saturday afternoon as I was returning from working at the Church with my friends Maggie Elkins and Barbara Walker, a red truck loaded with household items and other things came up by us and stopped at my house, I thought it was a truck load for our sale, but it was my niece Heather Corse Thayer and her hubby James, their daughter Brook and her son Lucas, and his Dad. They had been up to Heather’s Mom in Lyndonville and she sent them home with lots of items she no longer needed, they came over route 58 and seeing they were so close to us, Heather wanted to see me and it was a very nice visit, the one they call short and sweet. Unreal how the years pass us by and now her children are grown and she is a grandmother already. Time waits for no-one it just seems to fly by.
