10/15.. It has turned out to be a wonderful Sunday afternoon, the sun came out and warmed it up and we have opened up the doors to let fresh air flow through. Saturday, our cousin from Swanton stopped by to say Hello and he and his friend were out looking at the Fall foliage. Our daughter Veronica sent some beautiful pictures she had taken while out riding around over Johnson area and Stowe.
10/10..The 500 Card Club met at the home of Betsy Snider with hostess Lois Lumbra. She had prepared a luncheon for everyone, lasagna, salad, bread, lemonade and carrot cake for dessert, Betsy had made a pot of coffee or tea was available also. We were ready to start playing at 12:50, everyone gets to chat and joke and have fun and Betsy was playing in the absence of Jo Cota and she had high score for the afternoon 3960, Denise Baker was second high with 3040, most horses went to Therese Begnoche (4), and low score went to Sue Cherrier she received a small bear dressed in a Halloween outfit. The November meeting will be at Betsy’s home on the 14th.
10/11..Maggie Elkins and sisters Susie Ewins and Grace Jones from Essex came together at the Enosburg Falls Country Club for their last play of the year. They enjoyed an afternoon of fun, laughter and gorgeous weather.
10/14..Merle and Linda Van Gieson attended the “Open House 90th Birthday” celebration of her sister-in-law Theresa Towle, wife of Wellington (Sonny) Towle of Grice Brook Road in St.Albans. This elegant party was given by their four children; held at their parents home. There were around 75-100 family members and friends that came bringing birthday wishes and love. A wonderful time was enjoyed by all.
Montgomery Elementary School News: There will be no school October 18 and 19th. Thanks to everyone that submitted recipes for the MES cookbook that will be available at the December 9th Craft Show and will make a nice Christmas gift.
The Annual Kids writing contest and Pizza Party will be held October 27, 6 p.m. at the Conference Room at the Public Safety Building, this contest is open for grades 4-8, this years theme “Magic in the Green Mountains.”
On Saturday, October 28 from 3-6 p.m. at the Montgomery Center for Arts there will be fun cutting out your pumpkin. PLEASE bring your own pumpkin and carving tools if you have some, if not we will have a few on hand. We are asking that you bring a prepared pot-luck dish that we can all enjoy and someone will judge the carved pumpkins, this will be a fun time.
ARTS FOR THE PARK..event will soon be here on October 21, doors will open at the Town Hall at 5 p.m., dinner will be at 6, auction will follow. This is being sponsored by the M. Recreational Center. Dinner is by reservations call Karen at 326-4581..to donate art call Peggy at 933-8561. ($25. P.P.)

Today was the Turkey Dinner at St.Isidore’s Parish Hall and I hope that they had a great turnout. The ladies had worked hard preparing for this event. Thank You Ladies for all your hard works!!! I was hoping to there to help out but I came down with a cold and cough. I thought it best to stay away but I missed being with you.
