The weather outside is frightful with all the wind and snow flying around this afternoon 11/19. This is our second snow fall and by the sounds from the weatherman it isn’t going to last very long. The long range forecast the weather will be nice for traveling on Thanksgiving Day.
Maggie Elkins invited me to come with her the first part of the week to go to Enosburg and on our way back home we took a ride over the new Longley Covered Bridge, ITS GORGEOUS!!!! I truly love our bridges and I hope everyone will enjoy it.
11/14, Our November Card Club was held at the home of Betsy Snider, she had invited all of us to come for lunch that she had planned, Denise Baker went up to give her a hand before everyone arrived. She had a delicious shepherds pie, homemade bread, pickles and brownie sundae’s for dessert, punch, tea or coffee.
The afternoon was filled with laughter, jokes, and some frustration when we had to redeal cards so many times to get a good hand. SOOO, they decided to play a 6 bid hand just to save time. We also decided to play just 6 rounds instead of 8 during the winter months. Therese Begnoche and Marge Cummings were at the head table all through our 6 rounds of play, they had a fantastic play, they took high score and second high and split the pot. their points were 3290 each; most horses went to Carmen Scott with just 3, low score was Denise with 820 points. Connie McFarland will host the December meeting and we will go to the Snowshoe for lunch and play cards after.
Robin Houle and sister Zina are safely back home after their trip to London and Oxford on the 13th of this month. They went to see Dennis Locorriere (Dr. Hook) again! They had a wonderful time walking all around the West End of London. The buildings were mostly high rise made of brick and stone very vintage, they even went by the British Broadcasting Company. The highlight was our two concerts we went to see and enjoy, IT WAS A BLAST!!
A special request to Thank, Ted Carrick, Patty Perl, Elsie Saborowski, Scott Perry, Sue Wilson, Peggy Bristow and Marijke Dollois for their help in preparing the Christmas wreaths with new lights and bows.
