6/3..What a gorgeous afternoon after a cool start this morning at 40 degrees. Thankfully the festivities at Enosburg Dairy Days had some nice weather as there is so much work that goes to sitting it up. Today the Annual Covered Bridges Garden Club meeting was held at the home of the clubs President Marsha Phillips. The members attending were asked to bring finger foods to share. Marsha took everyone around beautiful garden and then she had a short meeting. There are 25 barrels throughout the Village and Center. Let’s not let this Club die out as its so important that we take pride in our town and keep it looking nice. During the summer months we have many tourist come and sit out at our picnic table and have their lunch. They notice how its kept looking nice and no junk and they always take theirs with them. I often go out and talk with them, see where they come from, etc.
On April 29, the UVM Medical School held a Convocation of Thanks honoring those who had donated their bodies for medical research. Jim Abbott was one of those celebrated. Wendy Howard and Joey Buttendorf asked Tim Murphy if he would like to attend, and perhaps say a few words. They can be found on Youtube under the heading St. James Abbott.
5/31..The Nimble Thimble Quilting Circle met at the home of Jeannette Sylvester’s in St. Albans. They worked on finishing two quilts. One had been given to them as it had come in at the Church Sale and Sue Peter’s took it to finish. They have completed around 15 Sunshine Quilts for the yearly goal of 25. Once a month the ladies get together to go over all that they have done during the month, as many take projects home to finish. They are amazing ladies!!!
5/31.. I attended the Elementary Schools “Talent Show” with Barbara Walker. The L.E.A.P.S. program Thanked the Montgomery United Methodist Women for a donation to purchase a Karaoke Machine. Finale, all the Children came on the floor to dance. This was the 3rd Annual Leaps Talent Show with Coaches Robin Pelkey and Lisa Baker.
