UNAPPROVED MINUTES
Meeting of the Commissioners
June 14, 2005

The meeting was called to order at 6:39 pm.
1. Approve minutes of 8/11/2004. Annie Purrier made a motion and was seconded to approve the minutes of the 8/11/2004 meeting as written. So moved
2. Request for Mausoleum in cemetery. The board discussed the request to put a mausoleum in the cemetery. There were questions as to how safe and secure they would be. Earl made a motion and was seconded not to allow any above ground buriels. The motion passed 5-0.
3. Perpetual Care Donation in memory of Gyneth Lumbra. There was discussion as to how the perpetual care donation for Gyneth Lumbra should be set up. Earl explained that the Charles Lumbra Family savings acct. was opened by his father as perpetual care funds in the early ‘70’s. This account is currently the Charles Lumbra family savings acct. at the Merchants Bank. As of 6/01/05 the balance is $413.63. Some money had been taken from this account to pay cemetery maintenance bills in the past.
Annie made a motion and was seconded to combine this money with the other perpetual care donations made by the Charles Lumbra family which equals the amount of $1500. To authorize Lynda Cluba to place this money in CD, or any similar account with the best interest rate, for up to 2 yrs, and to use the interest towards the care of the plots. Earl made a motion and was seconded to change the name of the Merchants Bank Checking account to Montgomery Ctr Cemetery. The motion passed 5-0. Any accounts will have Lynda P. Cluba and Renee J Patterson as signers.
4. Proposal to clean and repair cemetery stones. The Board reviewed 2 proposals to clean and repair stones at the lower cemetery. Lynda made a motion and was seconded to appropriate $1500 per year towards this expense. The motion passed 5-0. Dale Larose will be asked to give the Board a free estimate for the cleaning and repairs of the lower cemetery. Lyndol Elkins submitted his proposal for these repairs. (attached)
5. New Business
a. Policy on decorating of grave stones, artificial flowers and other ornaments.
b. Fee change for cost of lots. Currently is $200 for 4 buriel lots.
c. Purchase of lots , residents.
d. Harold and Donald Webster – request to fill in sunken graves and relevel stones.
The Board decided to tentatively meet in the beginning of Sept. 2005.
Lynda made a motion and was seconded to adjourn the meeting at 8:10 pm. So moved.
