5/ 20/ I help out my senior-friends around town and went down to help clean out dead flowers in Terry Zartarians barrels for her, long before she was awake. While down that way, I went over to visit my little friend Ricky the rooster. I called out his name and he came out of the little coop and came running over to me near the fence. He welcomed me with his little crows. I could tell he is very happy and I thank Parma and Duane Jewett for taking him in and giving him such a nice home. Duane did tell me, that he is getting quite cocky for his size and attacks them if they go inside their fence. He did attack Sonny and Penny a few times while here.

5/17, The 500 Card Club met at the lovely home of Lorraine Gillis in Enosburg at noon time for lunch that her daughter Suzanne Berkson prepares for all of us. YUMMY!!! She had made two kinds of salads, corn bread, desserts of bread pudding and a boston crème pie, all sorts of drinks to choose from, punch, coffee, tea or water. It was all so appreciated and we ALL Thank-You Suzanne.!!! We were ready to play cards at 1p.m. and chatter with one another as we play and curse at the rotten hands we might get and the kitty’s were no help when we bid..but we still manage to laugh and have a good time. Sue Peter’s our new card player had high score for the afternoon, second high was our hostess Lorraine Gillis and most horses went to Connie McFarland. Lorraine had many snacks around for us to munch on, no one every goes away hungry from our card games. Rita St.Onge was a sub for Betsy Snider. Sue Cherrier will host the next meeting at her home on Monday, June 20th.

I felt tired today, and had a short nap before starting this column, I just woke up before our Son Frank called. He was in their kitchen preparing a new recipe for dinner..(loves to cook and very good at it) As we were talking, he mentioned I’m crawling toward 50..Yes that does happen age stops for no-one. Shortly after that sentence, he was in the refrigerator looking for zip-lock bags. Yep..Frank that is a sign of OLD AGE creeping in. Then I mentioned to him..an elderly lady stopped in the middle of her stairs, she wondered am I going up or was I coming down. He had a good laugh. Mrs. Coy always said it’s better to laugh than cry as we cannot do a thing about repeating ourselves or looking for the cars keys in the medicine cabinet. Right?
That’s all folks for this week.. Thanks for sharing!!
