8/28, As I’m about finished writing this column, I’m beginning to feel the heat as it is almost 90 degrees this afternoon. Some changes coming about, though, if the weatherman is accurate in his forecast. Will See!!!
8/27, What a gorgeous day for the Harvest=Fest on the Village Park with all the vendors coming to sell their artistic crafts, jewelry, canned goods, jams and jellies, delicious baked goods, etc. There was delicious pizza made right before our eyes and baked in a brick oven right here on the park, and then there was delicious wraps all made fresh, Yummmy!!! The Montgomery Covered Bridges Garden Club planned this event and it brought in so many wonderful people to come and enjoy the day. Then “Trinkets and Treasurers” was set up at the Historical Society with lots and lots of nice pieces of treasurers were donated. To everyone working and planning these events Thank You!!!
8/20, Therese Begnoche and her sister Cecile Demers went to Bromont, Canada , to celebrate their annual Nadeau Family Reunion. It was a wonderful gathering of Family, the day just went by too fast.
A large gathering of Family and Friends came together at the home of Gaston and Therese Begnoche on Sunday, August 21, making it a special time to visit with Armand, his wife Mikal and children Violet and Hans Begnoche before they returned to Bozeman, Mt. Coming from Enosburg were Israel, Jessica and Beckham Plouff, Kevin Plouff, Isaac Plouff, Dean Scott Jr., Dana and Evan Cota; from Westford, Lesha, Joel, Emory and Luc Rasco; from Shelburn, Tisa, Parker, and Casey Begnoche; from Swanton, Leon Begnoche; from Highgate, Marcel and Kylie Begnoche; from Berkshire, Susan Begnoche; from N.H., Michelle, John, Bailey and Brenna Novakoski; from Florida, Cecile Demers; from town were Carmen Scott, Brent Godin, Johnny, Allison, Rose and Jack Witherspoon. Armand and Family had been here for a 10 day visit with his parents and before leaving many came with pot-luck and they all enjoyed a great dinner together.
8/23, Eleven members of the Green Mountain Ruby Reds and three friends joined us for “Dessert “ at Devin’s Cree-mee stand in Enosburg. We had made arrangements ahead of time to come for fried ice cream or any of their special desserts offered. It was a HOT afternoon and the ice cream treats were just so delicious, a wonderful way to get a little cooling off, and visit with our friends. Thanks, for all the wonderful service we received it was greatly appreciated!!!
8/23, This has been a very sad week for most of us here in Montgomery, getting the news of Jamie Buttendorf Jr. passing away so suddenly. (Words don’t always help, so We are sending loving thoughts to all his Family and Friends. An ear to listen, A hand to hold, A heart to share and A friend who cares, just give one of us a call) God Bless each and everyone of you!!! There will be a memorial service held at Pratt Hall on Friday, Sept. 2 at 10 o’clock a.m.

On this day August 28, 2016, Roseanne Antelli, grew up here in Montgomery, daughter of Mary and George Roberts, and Jonathan Oh son of Tony and Amy Oh from Taiping, Malaysia were united in marriage, officiating the double ring ceremony was Heather McKeown of Berkshire, Vt. The couple will make their home in Boise, Idaho. Their reception was held at Jay Peak with Family and Friends. (May love be in every step you take, in every word you speak, and in every choice you make in your life together.) Congratulations Mr. & Mrs Oh!!!
***Just for laughs.. An elderly man goes to a large department store fitting room and drop his garments to his knees and lets out a holler that there is no toilet paper in here.*** I’m told its good medicine to laugh so I hope this at least brings a smile to your face.

Out side our Church has new paint on the bell tower, thanks to Kort Gentry, our Cross weathervane was taken down and cleaned and a new protection was put on, thanks to Merle VanGieson, the nine upper windows have new acrylic protection and can once again see the stained glass windows, thanks to Klaus Voos, helping to put the acrylic up was the two men mentioned above, materials were purchased by the Church.
WHEW!!! It’s a bit hot today but the breeze is terrific. It’s been a wonderful Sunday. Got off to a good start this morning, been to Church, we had one person being baptized and two wanting to reaffirm their faith by being submerged in Trout River along with the baptism, then everyone wishing to stay for pot-luck and to congratulate our newest baptized lady and then to celebrate our Pastor’s Birthday. (Baptized was Pauline Domina, reaffirming their faith by baptizing was Sally Newton and Judy Sorrell. Congratulations and God Bless!!)
8/14, The Snider Family Reunion was held at Brookside Campground in Enosburg; hosted by Doug and Wanda Snider. There were 117 plus relatives that came and enjoyed the day, each bringing pot-luck to share. Doug was head chef at the grill. For dessert, strawberry sundae’s were made. It was a gorgeous day for a reunion for everyone to be involved with visiting and catching up on family they haven’t seen in a year. Coming the farthest was Pierre and Ginger Desautel from Pennsylvania, the eldest was Barbara Tidd, the youngest was Summer Lundborg, daughter of Erica Snider and Michael Lundborg. Everyone had a wonderful day participating in the tea cup auction, 50/50 raffle, horse shoe and other games. Next year the reunion will be held the 2nd Saturday of August.
