Here we are ending up the last week of May. It has been a windy Sunday, after our Church Service, the Montgomery Historical Society sponsors the Annual Memorial Day Commemoration which was held at Hill West Cemetery with a small crowd that gathered. SPECIAL Thanks to the Enosburg American Legion Post #42, and to the members of the M. H.S. for taking part in readings, and to Parma Jewett for her many variety of doughnuts. (God Bless all that have given their life for our Country and the ones that are serving our Country all around the world, We THANK You for your service, our LOVE to all)
Deb came by to share her news with me before leaving to go back to Illinois 5/21. Sonny and I have known the Crane family for several years. Deb’s mom Laura was sister to Hoddie Soule. We share many memories together. I had just taken some banana bread out of the oven and I invited Deb in to have some with me and write down her news for me and we had a nice chat. Thanks so much Deb!! Beth Crane Daybell and husband Morgan hosted the Crane Family Reunion at the Black Lantern Inn. In attendance were Sue and Ron Adams from Waltham, Ma.; John and Marion Crane from Columbia, S.C.; Deb and Mike Modde from Gurnee, IL.; Andy and Diane Crane from Sheldon, Vt.; Beth and Morgan’s son Roman Daybell. Peter Diepold and his wife Ullie from Germany. Peter was an exchange student many years ago and he was here celebrating his 80th Birthday. A wonderful few days were enjoyed as they all have wonderful memories growing up here. Its just a beautiful little town!!!

Also in attendance were Frank’s wife Linda and Rocky’s wife Lori; sisters Brenda E., Charlotte Parent and husband Raymond; Lila’s sister Pauline Domina and friend Jim, nephews and nieces also. A wonderful time was enjoyed.
5/23.. There were 15 members of the Green Mountain Ruby Reds coming together at the “Crossing Restaurant” in Richford to celebrate the 90th Birthday of Helen Thompson. Helen was surprised as she entered in, we started singing Happy Birthday, and when the waitresses at the Crossing came out with a dessert dressed with candles we all sang Happy Birthday to her again. Fredda Ploof had decorated the tables with Red Hat items and had Happy Birthday banners up on the walls and a H/B balloon on Helen’s chair. It was very enjoyable and we all had a wonderful time.

**A drunk walks out of the Ritz Hotel, flops himself into a cab, and says to the cab driver “ take me to the Ritz Hotel.” the driver said “we are there sir”, the drunk throws him a five dollar bill and says “next time don’t drive so fast.”** I have to end this by saying Hi to my niece Pamela Martin-Harris she is back up from Texas to help her parents for a month. Lets hope for some nice weather that has been promised for this week..but not so good for the week-end if Alberto sends rain our way. M.L.T.A.
