     I guess the sign given to me “Let It Snow” has come true this past week, been out several times a day to clean out the snow the plow throws in the driveway and then all the new snow that comes night and day.  I do not remember seeing our trees so stressed in years, we had that mist that was freezing on everything, the worse were cars that are not covered, frozen locks, ice all over them.  My sister in Florida got snow on Saturday, it has been cold for them this winter so far.  Maybe the jet-stream will change soon.  

     Congratulations to Rev. Larry Weeks of the Community Baptist Church, his Ordination Service was held Sunday, Jan. 10 at the Church.  The Council was held at 4 p.m.followed by the Ordination Service, Dr. Terry Dorsett, from the Green Mountain Baptist Association will preach and conducted the Ordination Service with Rev. Warren Chesser, and Rev. Mark Spradly from Forest Grove Baptist Church, Alachua, Florida.    This was the first Ordination held at this Church, since Rev. Paul Carpenter on Feb. 15, 1953, from all records found.  The other was in 1928 when Rev. Lonyear Snyder was ordained. 

     Jean Trautner one of the cooks at the Elementary School collects “General Mills Box Tops for Education” which she redeems for cash and recently sent them in and received a check of $75.50 for the school at 10 cents each.  There is a collection container at the Village P.O. if you have been collecting and Jean will pick them up there.  Sometimes it does not take a lot to make a big difference.

     The Elementary School Children will be bringing home “ Pizza Fund Raiser Forms” this week, the PIZZA’S will be made on January 29 and ready for pick up from 3-6 p.m.   Also volunteers are needed to put them together call Annie Purrier at 326-4124 or Ruth Little at school  326-4168.  Thanks !!
