The January/February issue of the Covered Bridges Garden Club newsletter just came out Saturday 1/21 and what a newsy issue.  I do not attend all the meetings but am a member, and appreciate all that the club does to keep Montgomery beautiful.  Back in October Annette Goyne did a presentation on Dutch Bulbs.  Christa Chevalier hosted the November meeting and advised on the do and don’t’s of houseplants.  In December, The Holiday Social was held in Richford at the lovely decorated home of Kitten Ellison, members all brought finger-foods to share and enjoy the spirit of the season.   January, members were asked to come and enjoy brunch at the Black Lantern Inn here in the Village, (which is under new management) all had a wonderful time.  March meeting will be held at the Public Safety Building off Route 242 in the Center with hostess Lauri Ellis, Herbalist from town giving a presentation on herbs on March 10 starting at 1 p.m.  The Club welcomes new members or if you just want to attend certain meetings of interest.

Theresa Snider had a visit from her brother Cedric Domina and his daughter Laurie; and his son-in-law Joe Squires from East Hampton, Mass. on the weekend of 1/14.  This past weekend she had her grandchildren Bruce Jr. and wife Heather Snider and their 4 children from St.Albans; granddaughter Holly Knox and her daughter Phoebe from Swanton come for a visit.

Heartfelt Sympathy is extended to the Family and Friends of Roseanna Brunton. ( When the Lord calls our loved ones home, he leaves a gift of memories in exchange) God Bless you all!!!

There will be a Blood Drawing this Sunday 1/29 at St.Isidore’s Parish Hall from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.  All presenting donors will receive a coupon for a free pound on Dunkin’ Donuts coffee and can enter a local raffle to win prizes from Bernie’s Restaurant in Montgomery Center and the Black Lantern Inn in the Village.  Sponsored by the Montgomery Rescue.

The United Methodist Trustees will meet Sunday 1/29 at 8:30 a.m. (Also Annual Reports are  due in)

The 50 Week Club winner’s were Rosalie Labier and Roland Nichols.

Happy  Birthday to Jim Cota 1/31, Sue Stryker 2/1, Larry Sylvester, Pamela Brooks, Whitney Ovitt, and Rohan Hardy 2/2, Lorraine St.Onge, Eric Mercy and Leila Dollois 2/4.

Anniversary wishes to Rocky and Lori Elkins 1/30.

Hi Folks, I will be leaving soon...  To help save the economy the government will announce next month that the Immigration Dept. will start deporting senior citizens (instead of illegals) in order to lower SSI and medicare costs.  Older people are easier to catch and will not remember how to get back. I started to cry, when I thought of leaving all of you.  Then it dawned on me, OH CRAP, I’ll probably see you on the bus!  (from an email I received)  Enjoy folks I did!
