     I seem to be starting my column with the weather conditions lately, and its almost rain here this afternoon as I write. The ski area's have certainly been blessed this winter with lots of snow.  I must be feeling my age as I have always enjoyed shoveling and its beginning to be a chore not fun anymore.  Maybe its just been alot to shovel.  By the way the deer are starting to come down to the fields and have seen many around, I was advised to mention in this column, the concern for the deer and dogs that are allowed to run free and chase them.  PLEASE, KEEP YOUR DOG(S) ON A LEASH and know their whereabouts. Thanks!

     Charlie and Pat Carpenter enjoyed the weekend of 2/14 with their daughter Cathie Paradee and Family in South Berwick, Maine, while there the ladies went shopping at LL Beans and Cabela's. It was a wonderful time and then they all enjoyed watching the 500 car race that was held on the 15th.

     This is school vacation time and school will return to its normal schedule on March 4.

     The Town Library is seeking volunteers to fill two regular shifts at the front desk, one is every other Saturday from 12-2 p.m., and Sundays 12-2 p.m...If interested give Debbie a call at 326-3113.

     On Feb. 26 there will be a "Wildlife Rescue Assoc. program starting at 11a.m. at the Town Library.

     Feb. 28., Informational meeting for Town Meeting questions and discussions at the Town Hall at 10 a.m.

     March 3, Town Meeting at the Town Hall starting at 9 a.m.

     March 4, During Lenten Season St.Isidore's will be having Stations of the Cross every Wed. evening starting at 7 p.m.

     March 8, Ham Dinner at St.Isidore's Parish Hall starting at 11:30 see coming events for more info.

     The 50 week club winner's were Esther Varela and Gila Domina.

     Heartfelt Sympathy is extended to the family and friends of David Deuso, David was a native of Montgomery and worked many hours at farming, logging, fence building, lawn care and we all send our deepest Sympathy to them.
