     The Covered Bridges Garden Club met with about 30 members present and after a brief business meeting conducted by Sue Peters, everyone enjoyed Mr. Ed Smith share his experience with container gardening verses the traditional garden plots. He shared some of his trials with the tiller and his annual battle with the weeds along with several solutions to the problem that has worked for him. He also brought along copies of his books that were available for purchase.  The raffle drawings were won by Philippa Coville, Kay Henderson and Joanne Bennett,  delicious refreshments were enjoyed and ended the meeting.

     The monthy Quilting Circle met with 22 ladies in attendance. The new president, Linda Gonyer, called the meeting to order. The quilters will have a workshop on May 20, 6:30 p.m. at the Public Safety Bldg., The Circle has completed 14 charity quilts and were presented at the meeting along with Show and Tell.  The Quilt Kamp for Kids has been scheduled for May 6 & 7 at Daymoon Art Center. The 2006 Challenge Quilt was started followed by a fabric shower to thank Sharon Perry for her years of serving as President to the Circle. Refreshments were served.

     The Ladies 500 Card Club had their April meeting at the home of Therese Begnoche, the high score was tied between Lorraine Gillis and Therese Demar, as they were partners for all 32 hands at the head table, Lorraine won the tie for high, second high then went to Therese Demar, most horses and door prize went to Denise Baker. Theresa Snider was sub for Jo Cota. The May meeting will be held at St. Isadore's Parish Hall, Therese Demar as hostess.

     The 50 Week Club winner's were Rose Marchand and Eric Cota.

     I receive word from Ruth Royal of Tampa, Florida and she had been to visit her mother Anita Proulx, at Fairview Nursing Home in Husdson, N.H. and found her to be in good health. Anita lived here in town for many years and made many friends and misses them.

     Maureen Tryhorn has returned home after spending 6 weeks with her daughter Melody and family in Georgia, upon returning home for one week she and husband Rod went to California to visit son Christopher and family, while there attended their nieces wedding, which was held at Giradelli Square.  Maureen said they enjoyed two weeks in sunny California but no sun until the last couple of days before coming home. Its always nice to be home.

     Joan Grossman reported to me that their recent blood drive was another success with 58 people giving the Gift Of Life. Many Thanks to all..

     Heartfelt Sympathy to Linda VanGieson and Family in the loss of her sister Janice Lafontaine.

     Happy Birthday to Amy Hurlbut, Joshua and Branden Ryea 4/22, Arthur St.Onge, Beth Crane, Lawrence Pronto, Tara Ryan, 4/23, Michael Sheltra 4/24, Susan Auclair 4/25.

     Happy Anniversary to Romeo and Theresa Lamore 4/24.
