The Green Mountain Ruby Reds gathered at St. Isadore's Parish Hall on the 17th for their annual birthday party. The group honored Evelyn Hart with a beautiful butterfly wind chime, she also received many cards and other lovely gifts. Everyone brought in wrapped gifts to exchange, delicious pot-luck dishes and birthday cakes. After the fellowship of food and gifts the ladies stayed and played games. It rained and rained with thunder and lightning most the afternoon causing flash flooding around Montgomery, many basements had water and culverts were washed out leaving some roads having to be closed. Thanks to Red Hatter Freda Ploof who was at the party, but went home early and knowing that a mile out of the Village there was no rain, the streets were dry, she called the State Highway Crew and let them know that Montgomery was being flooded. I guess we think of the rain as falling everywhere but it picks its spots.
Terry Zartarian is home recuperating from surgery and doing well, as is Margie Harrocks. God Bless you gals!!
Congratulations to the newlyweds Carl Root and Peggy Bordeaux were united in marriage June 7, officiated by Justice Of Peace Erin St. Onge. Carl was honored to have his buddies from Camp Johnson National Guards come and celebrate this special day with him, they had served together in Iraq, also friends from Arkansas.
The Montgomery Historical Society's exhibit, "Carry The Weight, Save Freight", on the manufacture of 3-ply veneer packing cases manufactured in Montgomery Center was well received at the annual History Expo in Tunbridge, Vt.
