Anne Sarbanis of N.H. came and spent a few days with her sister Terry Zartarian of town and while here endured the Black Falls Brook flooding, loss of electricity; and an outing with the Red Hatters and a short shopping trip in Canada.
Tyler Elkins returned from serving in Iraq and home on a 2 week leave and now has returned to his base in Washington.
Sonny, Lois, Penny Lumbra and David Newton joined with Veronica deSaintPhalle in Johnson on Friday to travel to Derry, N.H. where they celebrated the wedding of son/brother Frank's wedding to Karen Leare. They were married at Pond View in Kingston, N.H. Karen's family members came from England to meet the family and celebrate.. There was a special time of celebrating Sonny's 70th Birthday also. Upon returning home Sunday, June 25 we were all blessed by the birth of our first great-granddaughter Natalie Royer, proud parents Loren and Samantha (Elkins) Royer of Johnson. Maternal Grandparents Andre' & Veronica deSaintPhalle of Johnson, Rocky and Laurie Elkins of Town, Paternal Grandparents Larry and Heidi Royer of Johnson. Little brothers Jayden and Shane Royer were excited to have a little sister. ( It has been an exciting weekend for us)
I missed the Garden Club gathering at Cota Nursery which was held 6/24, but the ones that went had a wonderful time selecting annuals for container planting, it was a bit different but very interesting and a fun time was enjoyed by the ones attending. Our appreciation and Thanks to Kelly and Dave for their help and techniques of planting and maintaining of annuals. Refreshments were enjoyed.
It was exciting Sunday as we drove into town and see the new Memorial Pavilion going up at the Rec Center in Memory of Tom Patras and Valerie Patillio. Marshia Philips said there were many that came to help and donations of materials were given, its all so greatly appreciated and donations are welcome.
Just a reminder to keep looking for events that are happening in our town, the Historical Society will open its season on Saturday, July 8, with the Stockwell Brothers at 8 p.m.
The 50 Week Club winners were Abigail Paradis and Ken Domina.
There are many activities/camps offered to our local children, check with Rolf Anderson, Sue Kelley-Harkey, or Erin St.Onge. Please be aware of children being out of school for the summer, drive carefully where they might be.
