Mrs. Yvonne Brown of Conn. is here with her son David and family, where she will be celebrating her 90th Birthday at a camp in Franklin, but the biggest surprise will be her granddaughter Leah has come from Bozeman, Montana. Leah will be here for a week and enjoying being with her family and visiting friends. Leah has been attending her first year of college.
I had a nice email from Dale and Cheryl Delisle in Aiken, South Carolina, they have moved from Montgomery and made a new life there. They are very proud of their daughter Allison, she has made great achievements since attending Silver Bluff High School. Allison has been a very active part of the Naval Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps. She has traveled all over the South with her school, as one of the Cadets on the competition team. In her 3 years she has attended national competitions in Pensacola and Daytona Florida. This year her team won the So.Carolina state championship. Last summer she was 1 of 3 out of 120 picked to go to a special military leadership academy. In that she was the first cadet ever from her school (NJROTC) program to ever be in the color guard where she was picked as color guard commander, at the graduation ceremonies, which is the highest privilege given to any cadet at the academy. I could go on and on of her achievements. She has one more year of high school left, she has already enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in the delayed enlistment program. Now we all know why you are proud parents, we are proud also.
The 50 week club winner's were Mike Mercy and Linda O'connell.
Did it rain on your parade? as it did ours here in Montgomery, even though we got wet we still had a great time. I appreciate and thank everyone for their effort of making floats and joining the fun, a very special thanks to the ones in charge of making the 4th of July special. Its always great to see the little children enjoying catching the candy. To all I hope you enjoyed the holiday weekend.
