Mr. and Mrs. Donald McGowan are in town with their daughter and grandson, doing some house sitting for a friend and visiting friends they have made through the years while living here on the Longley Bridge Road.
A good group of members of the Covered Bridges Garden Club met at Cady Falls Nursery in Morrisville, where everyone enjoyed a good meal, the presentation on Conifers and Dwarf Trees by Don Avery.
The Club is now planning for their next event on August 23, the Annual Harvest Fest. Jaye Secor is
the Event Coordinator for info call her at 933-5048. If you wish to donate items for the white elephant table, or do baked goods, preserves, new potted house plants, perennials, whatever give Jaye a call. Thanks!!
Karen Scheffler has returned from Marco Island,Florida, she spent a week caring for her nephew Steven, while her sister Kim went to Arizona for a birthday celebration. Karen rode around Marco Island on a bicycle with Steven, and while there read an old news article that our own "ZACK" had been a chef there at Old Marco Inn. What a great week Karen had!!
In June the Montgomery Historical Society awarded the Lalia Pratt Scholarship fund to Hayley Williams and Jordan Cota, Congratulations to these fine young folks.

Sunday, August 3, St.Isadore's will have their first Community Lawn Social starting at noon with a
Chicken Bar-B-Que, Bingo starts at 1 p.m. in the Parish Hall, there are several games planned for the children, plan to attend and have a great family day.
Saturday, August 9, Life in Montgomery in the 1800's. Betty Stanton will share family letters, pictures and discussions.
Sunday, August 17, Old Home Day at the United Methodist Church, starting with the Worship time at 10 a.m. followed by a Chicken-n-biscuit Dinner at 11:30.
Sunday, August 17, The last concert of the summer at Pratt Hall starting at 7p.m."Diller-Quaille Quartet."
Sunday, August 24 the Rec. Center will be hosting the Annual Montgomery Block Party at the new pavilion. The event will start at 2 p.m. with a pot-luck lunch, music by the Starline Rhythm Boys. All ages are encouraged to come, spread the word to your friends and neighbors, Thanks!
