Boy, does that seem fast coming, August already here. I remember hearing from my parents how fast the years went by when I was a child, back then we never gave it a thought, but now I’m saying those very words. Maybe I’m repeating myself also.
Mitchell Demar a while back suddenly found himself unable to walk, he and his wife Therese had gone out for appointments and then for their anniversary dinner. Once back home he could not get out of the car. He was very appreciative and thankful for our local firemen for coming and helping to get him in his house. After resting at home i n his easy chair for awhile he was able to get up on his own and walk. The following day he was admitted to the hospital in Burlington where he was diagnosed of having a mild stroke, Mitchell is now at St.Albans Center and Rehab. (what was Haven House). We wish him the best in his recovery, and to all that need our prayers, God Bless!!!
This past week was ROCKET CAMP at the Montgomery Rec Center Day Camp. Twenty –three campers learned about aerodynamics and propulsion syspems as they built their own rockets and then took advantage of the beautiful weather on Thursday afternoon to launch them. Friends and Family came to camp to watch,as the rockets went more than 400 feet into the sky! Other than one rocket that got carried away by the wind during its descent and got caught in a tree, launches were a complete success. The Rec Center Day Camp runs 9 a.m.-3p.m. on Tuesday-Thursday until Aug.13, new campers are welcome, for more info call Ave Leslie at 326-4635. Thanks to Ave and his helpers in keeping the children entertained and having a great summer.
On July 30, ten members of the Green Mountain Ruby Reds enjoyed a Box Lunch exchange at the home of Judy Turner’s in Westfield. Judy is very talented with her sewing machine and had made several beautiful gifts for those attending. It was a fun filled afternoon with lots of laughter and games were played. ( All boxes are beautifully decorated and great lunches filled each box)
