Note of cancellation, scheduled for August 20 the Montgomery Palette Exhibit and Pot-luck Reception to be held at Daymoon Art Center has been cancelled.

I have received word that the August 6 Blood drive collected 34 productive units from the 37 prospective donors. Dave Mellor from Lowell won the Red Sox raffle and Elaine Bruckner (a CERT Member) won the gas card raffle. The next Blood Drive will be Oct. 15.

The Ladies 500 Card Club met for their August gathering at Jay Peak Hotel for a special luncheon and a tour of the new golf course, the meeting was hosted by Carmen Scott.  WOW, what a huge golf course, the ladies rode around in the carts. Once the cards were dealt the high score went to Theresa Lamore, second high Lorraine Gillis, and most horses and door prize to Eva Lumbra.  Lorraine Gillis will host the September party.

Descendants of Walter & Matilda Lumbra reunion was held at the Brookside Campground in West Enosburg on August 5, with 120 family members gathering for a great day of fun and games.  Shorty and Wanda Snider prepared the meals. Everyone had a wonderful time and will meet again in 2008.

Descendants of Harry and Mae Snider enjoyed a family reunion at Brookside Campgrounds, Sunday August 13, with approx. 130 family members present. The eldest was Leland Snider, the youngest Jennie Pion-Smith, longest couple married Albert & Marquerite Warner for 66 years, newest newly weds Bruce and Heather Snider Jr., games were played, the Warner/Snider band provided music, new officiers were elected, they will plan to meet each year on the second Sunday in August.

Reminder of the 47th Old Home Day at the United Methodist Church, August 20, with Worship starting at 10 a.m., Chicken-n-biscuit dinner at 11:30. Hope to see you there.

Stanley and Lorraine Gillis enjoyed the company of their Son Mark and 2 children from N.J. and niece Margaret Goodchild of Mass.  While here they enjoyed the Lumbra reunion.

Cyndee Chambers and daughter Ariella of Mass. recently visited her parents John and Robin Pelkey, and while here her grandparents Roland and Marilyn Baker had a big family Bar-B-Que.

Let's Welcome newcomer Liam Walker, weighing 6 lbs. 12 oz. to proud parents Trevor and Jodi Walker and little brother Connor, he arrived 8/11/06.

Congratulations to newly weds Quenten and Susan Jones, they married August 12 at the United Methodist Church, officiant of "The Wedding Ceremony" Pastor Ed. Sorrell. ( Cherish, Joy, & Love each other, now and forever)
