Wayne and Christina Bimm arrived from Ontario, Canada 8/13 to spend a few days with son Michael and wife Marnie, grandsons Andrew and Alex. (Bimm's purchased the property that was Bob and Marie Baron's)
Richard Charnov and Debra Bechtel of Hazen's Notch Road enjoyed a visit this past week with Tom and Karen Parker of Mass. The Parker's paddled the headwaters of the Missisquoi River dodging cows, fallen trees and poison ivy. We all had a great time and lots of laughs.
The Green Mountain Ruby Reds have been on the go this month, this past Sunday 8/9, eight members joined with 10 ladies of the Newport and Barton red hatters and went to the Haskell Opera House at Derby Line and watched the play "ANYTHING GOES" it was so well done by the cast of performers and so humorous, then we went to the Cow-Palace to eat before returning home. Then on 8/10 six members went to Burlington for a shopping spree and out for lunch at 99 in Williston, then more shopping and home by 5. Connie McFarland, Theresa Lamore, Fredda Plouff, Rachel Wright and Judy Turner attended the Red Hat Convention this past weekend in Rutland where they met up with 75 other ladies from Vermont for a wonderful time of sharing, shopping, playing games and everyone winning prizes, they stayed at Holiday Inn while there.
The 500 Card club met at the home of Suzanne Berkson of Enosburg, she hosted for her Mother Lorraine Gillis on 8/12. The game started at 1o'clock after a delicious luncheon had been served. Therese Demar had high score, second high was Eva Lumbra, most horses was a tie between Linda VanGieson and Carmen Scott, Carmen won the draw. Before leaving for home everyone was served homemade desserts. Jo Cota will have the next meeting on September 9 at the Cota camp.
On Monday, Aug. 10 the Montgomery Softball team played Bakersfield here at Kaleb Sylvester Memorial ball park and following the game which Montgomery won 10 to 0. There was a second year memorial held for Kelab, Jon Ramey led the memorial in prayer, a bar-b-que was held for all in attendance, and to all we sincerely thank you for sharing this time with us, even the pouring rain could not dampen our spirit. Mr. & Mrs.Don McGowan from Toronto, Ca. and daughter Andrea and grandson Liam are visiting around town this past week and took Liam to Santa Village in N.H. that was a wonderful day for all.
Arthur and :Lorraine St.Onge celebrated their 50th Anniversary with their children all coming to their home here in the Village and having a backyard bar-b-que on Sunday 8/9. Congratulations!!!
Billy Baker jr. and Roberta Cota have joined as one on 8/7, congratulations to the newly weds.

August 29 Community Block Party at the Rec. Center Pot-luck at 6:30, Music by Sweet Jane 7p.m.
September 26 Arts for the Park is scheduled, need donations for auction, more info later.
50 week club winner's were Giselle Beauregard and Kathryn Danderand, Darren Chaffee and Lois Babbitt for the past 2 weeks.
The Old Home Day at the United Methodist Church served its last dinner this Sunday, Aug.16, Thanks to all that came and shared this day. We were put to the test, We have done our best, Now we can all rest. God Bless!!!! A very Special Thanks to Hank Potts for bringing us the homily.
