     The 500 Card club met at te home of Suzanne Berkson in Enosburg on 8/13, where they had been invited for a luncheon prepared by Suzanne, ( what a great cook) After our delicious lunch we started dealing those card around 12:45. The high score for the afternoon went to Carmen Scott, second high to Lois Lumbra who was sub for Jeanette Sylvester, most horses went to Therese Demar, she and Connie McFarland tied. Before leaving we were served delicious homemade desserts honoring Lorraine Gillis birthday. The September gathering wil be hosted by Jo Cota at her camp.

     Congratulations to Rachel Patterson and Larrs Hardy, they were united in marriage 8/16 at St. Ann's Shrine in Isle La Motte, and the reception was held in St. Albans at the Columbus Hall.

     Announcing the arrival of Elena Elizabeth Wells on August 14, she weighed 7 lbs./ 8 oz. to proud parents Larry Wells and Dr. Elizabeth Davidson. The grandparents are all very proud also.

     Mike, Linda, Sydney and Cole Carpenter have returned home after a short vacation at Echo Lake in West Charleston, Vt, while there Mike's family visited and they all had a great time.

     Margie Harrocks had returned home after a short get-away with her friends Cherrie Longe and her son James, they all had a fabulous time at Hampton Beach, N.H.

     Michelle Legault had a wonderful time at her 40th Birthday party given by her hubby Jake Webster on 8/16. She has been blessed by many wonderful friends, her Mom and Dad, and neighbors came to share this special time.

     The 50 week club winners were Eva Lumbra and Marie Larose. 50 week club sellers PLEASE find out how many people will be attending the dinner/dance in September, we need to know the number soon.

     The United Methodist Church celebrated its 49th Old Home Day with a Chicken-N-biscuit dinner Sunday, we wish to thank everyone for their donations, their help in the kitchen, the clean up after, every hand made a difference.  Note: to our trustee's that there will be no meeting this month, rescheduled for September 7, 8:30 a.m.

     Reminder of all the activities going on in Montgmery this coming weekend..check the ads for the huge Covered Bridges Garden Club sale on 8/23; The Historical Society Art Show 8/23&24; The Community Block Party to be held at the Pavilion/Rec. Center starting at 2 p.m. Pot-luck, live music, games for the children.
