Therese Begnoche accompanied by her sister Cecile Demers coming up from Jupiter, Florida enjoyed the Nadeau Family Reunion in Winsor, Quebec. They continued on their visits to relatives in Johnville, Boucherville and St. Constant, and on to Montreal to where they visited cousins.
The Covered Bridges Garden Clubs president Winston Lewis reports the most successful Harvest Fest held 8/26 on the Village Park. My Sincere Thanks to all the vendors, to all the Club Members for their dedication of giving and all their hard work in bringing this event to the Community. I also want to Thank all the local nurseries, business's for their support, Enosburg, Richford, Hyde Park, Swanton for their plants and gifts for raffle items, it was a beautiful day and many many people came to enjoy this event with us. Thanks Everyone!!!
The September meeting will be held at the Public Safety Bldg. on the 13th at 6:30 p.m. with Deb Landauer on "How to Dry/Freeze/Tincture Herbs."
Sixteen local artists exhibited at this year's Art Show/Sale that was held at the Pratt Hall over this past weekend. Lots of admiring eyes enjoyed a variety of paintings, photography and fiber art. The Montgomery Palettes and Covered Bridge Mailboxes were also on exhibit and the silent auction for the mailboxes concluded, raising about $1500. for the Historical Society's restoration efforts. The MHS Thanks all of our sponsors and artists for their generous support.
Pratt Hall will be the venue for the next "Concert By The Common", this Saturday, Sept 2nd at 8:00 p.m. The Will Patton Jazz Ensemble will entertain with a variety of styles. Tickets available at Lutz's and at the door.
I (your reporter) received a nice email from Dale Delisle, he and wife Cheryl are settling in to their new home in South Carolina, Cheryl has work at a local caterer and school lunch program, Allison is enrolled in her new school and likes being in the JROTC program a navy division and remarked she looks nice in her uniform. Dale is trying to keep busy and will continue offering his services in emergency, it seems the American Red Cross needs qualified instructors. Good luck to you all!!
