Whitney Ovitt recently traveled to Lewiston, Idaho where she spent three weeks with her Aunt Johanne and Uncle Monte Schmidt. Then she drove back cross-country with her cousin DJ and her grandmother Denise Lague. Denise, formerly of Enosburg Falls, has finally retired and will be spending the next few months in Vermont, Canada, Connecticut and Florida. While in Vermont she will stay with daughter and son-in-law Lisa and Kenny Greco.
Its time that we welcome Ethan Matthew Silva to proud new parents Matt and Sara Silva, Ethan arrived Sat. August 22, weighing 6 lbs and 11oz.
On Aug. 27, twelve members of the Green Mountain Ruby Reds went for lunch at the Eastside Restaurant in Newport for Lunch where some of the ladies from Newport were going to join us but only one appeared and she had a good time with us. After lunch we shopped around before returning home.
Zachary Scheffler son of Kevin and Karen Scheffler will be attending CCV starting Sept. 8, where he will continue is degree in Associates Multi-Media, Arts and Communications. To all our local students heading back to college, good luck to all of you.
John and Lynda Cluba went to Patagonia, Az. to visit their two month old granddaughter Torah'yah, she is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elliot Cluba. Lynda will be heading back to S.C. this week where she helps to care for her parents.
The Community Block Party was cancelled due to the wind, rain and much cooler temps. It sure has felt much better than being sticky in the humidity.
My niece Pamela Harris and her husband Scott have arrived in Vermont from Texas where it has been hot, she was hoping to come to Vt. and have it hot and humid as we have been telling her, but she never seems to hit our hot days which are few and far between. Pam is the daughter of Allen and Roberta Martin in Enosburg.
September 12, "Last Fling of Summer" at the Riverwalk Park from 11a.m.-5p.m. This is a fundraiser for the newly formed Montgomery Area Community Alliance, there will be Kayak races, mountain bikers, games, white elephant table, bake sale and food. For more info call President Sarite Khan at 326-3025.
September 26, "Arts For The Park, Dinner and Auction" at the Town Hall, viewing starts at 5 p.m., dinner at 6, for more info call Kathy at 326-4581.
Coming October 10, there will be a Fall Rummage and Bake Sale at the United Methodist Church, we will be needing Fall and Winter clothing, books, toys, white elephant items, and large items the day of the sale as we do not have storage. Things can be left on the church steps at your convenience and we thankyou.
