Tuesday, Sept. 1, 15 members of the Green Mountain Ruby Reds gathered at the home of their Queen Betty Moquin’s home at Highland Springs Road. Once there it was so beautiful and the peace and quiet that we all enjoyed before we all devoured delicious food that we all had prepared for lunch. It was all so delicious and plentiful. Once we were all stuffed we went out on the deck and enjoyed gifts that had been brought by Queen Betty, Nance Bessett and Diane Bocian. Then Queen Betty, Judy Turner, Rachel Wright and Connie McFarland received gifts from the group thanking them for their generosity of having us at their homes and homemade gifts that our talented Judy makes for each of us. Then we all enjoyed playing games until around 3 p.m. some stayed longer and got to enjoy the excitement when Ricky Bessett came into the yard with a bear that he had shot. Judy Turner put a red hat on it and took a picture for the red hat album. Also another bear was shot on Hill West the first day of the hunt and that was a big bear weighing over 200 lbs.
