On October 4, eighteen ladies of the Green Mountain Ruby Reds enjoyed an afternon at the home of Connie McFarland, they each brought along something to share while they played games, enjoyed refreshments and had fun.
Then on Oct. 10, thirteen ladies of the GMRR enjoyed a gathering at Bernie's for great fellowship and delicious food, as we get ready to say farwell to our friends that will be leaving for Florida.. On October 13 a few ladies of the GMRR gathered at Trout River Traders for Tea and fellowship in honor of Lois and CK Babbitts 50 Anniversary. She was surprised and thankful for our gifts and thoughfulness.
On October 11, the Ladies 500 Card Club met at the home of Linda VanGieson at 7 p.m. the high score went to Eva Lumbra, second high to Denise Baker, most horses and door prize was won by Connie McFarland. Lois Lumbra was sub for Jo Cota. A decision was made to have November through April meetings in the afternoon. Jeannette Sylvester will host the next meeting starting a 1 p.m.
Last week, October 6, the Montgomery Historical Society sponsored a concert for the children of the Elementary School. Nate Zeisler (bassoon) Nick Hutchinson (piano) and Martha Walvoord (violin) of the Envision Chamber Consort charmed the K-8th graders during the 45 minute program, which included many interactive segments. Many thanks to the staff of M.E.S. who made the concert a success. The members of the Evision truly enjoyed the visit and hope to return. The Consort performed again on Saturday night as part of the Historical Society's Chamber series.
Cottonwood Quilts Shop has closed as of Oct. 9. Bob and Marie Baron have had two very successful years since opening and have just become much to busy and they need a break. They need some time to enjoy their new grandchildren as they are growing up fast.
Pumpkin Lighting and Bonfire at the River Walk Park on Saturday, October 28, 6:30 p.m., Come and bring your carved pumpkin to share the fun and enjoy hot cider and donuts.
The 50 week club winner's were Scott Perry and Ann Ouellette.
Picture Day at the Elementary School will be held on October 27, need more info call Ruth at 326-4618.
There will be a Candlelight Vigil in memory of Tommy and Valerie held at the Recreational Center at the new Pavilion on Saturday night October 28, family and friends all welcome..
Belated Birthday wishes to Trevor Birch he celebrated his 8th on October 6.
