October 14, The ladies 500 Card Club met at the lovely home of Jeannette Sylvester, it was quite an afternoon with the snow showers taking place outside as we were comfortable inside. The cards were dealt at 1 p.m. and the high score for the afternoon went to Lorraine Gillis, second high to Therese Demar, most horses went to Eva Lumbra. In the absence of Jo Cota , Lois Lumbra filled in for her. Everyone enjoyed the snacks and delicious cakes that were served. The next meeting will be held at the home of Theresa Begnoche on Nov. 12.
The 50 week club winner’s were Lorraine Gillis and Everett Poirier. The St. Anne’s Turkey Dinner was a delicious success, feeding around 250 people is wonderful. Its a lot of work and rewarding when the people come to enjoy the fruits of all the labor. You did a fantastic job and THANKS to all that helped in every way to make this successful.
On October 17, John Newton and Penny had a birthday party at their home for their son David, it was a wonderful afternoon, and 26 kids were present to play games and eat pizza and cake.
October 18, The Covered Bridges Garden Club members came with Spring bulbs to plant out on the Village Park.
October 24, The annual PUMPKIN LIGHTING will start at 6 p.m. at the Riverwalk Park and this year we will have a haunted forest, along with the bonfire, hot cider and donuts. This event gets bigger each year and its so much fun. Come and join us, sponsored by the Rec.Center.
October 24, Grace Church in Sheldon, Vt. will participate with other town and cities in the stop global warming, 350 the International Day of Action. It will start at noon time and the church bells will ring 350 times to create awareness about the importance of lowering CO2 in the atmosphere. Prayers will be said for our beautiful planet and snacks will be available also. Come and participate.
Our Heartfelt Sympathy is extended to the Soule’s Family in the loss of Jennie.
We send our deepest Sympathy to the Jacob’s Family of Richford in the loss of their Mother Jesse.
