On Thursday, December 14 the Elementary School held its annual Christmas dinner for parents and grandparents at the school and then for those wishing to watch the concert rehearsal that was presented at 7 p.m. that evening. Many thanks to all the cooks and helpers for a wonderful dinner and very enjoyable concert by music teacher Mr. Hoh.
The Elementary Children will enjoy their Christmas parties on Friday, December 22 starting at 2 p.m. and school will close for a few days vacation, and will return after the New Year.
The Montgomery Historical Society held its monthly Board Meeting at the home of Marijke Dollois and Charlie Fichman on Friday evening where a short meeting was conducted by President Scott Perry and a Holiday celebration was held with good food, drinks and wonderful friends.
Stuart and Ester Pratt received word on Tuesday that their cousin Jim Pratt had passed away, Jim and wife Dee sold their home here in the village and moved to Green Cove Springs, Florida, Jim has not been well for sometime. Donations in Jim's memory can be made to the Montgomery Historical Society, P.O. Box 47, Montgomery, Vt. 05470, a memorial service will be held next year at Pratt Hall.
Also word was received of Emaline Potvin passed away on Tuesday and the community sends sincere heartfelt sympathy to her family and friends, Emaline and Lewis Potvin lived in the Center for many years, and later Emaline moved to Enosburg.
The December 10th blood drive was another successful one with 55 individuals coming to donate. The Red Cross extends its appreciation to all who support this gift of life. There will be a blood drive every 2 months, the next being Feb.4, 2007.
The Ladies 500 Card Club had their Christmas party and game at the Snow Shoe restaurant on Wednesday afternoon all the regulars and no subs, the high score went to Therese Lamore, second high to Denise Baker, most horses Eva Lumbra, and door prize to Therese Begnoche. The meeting was hosted by Linda VanGieson and the January meeting will be at the home of Theresa Lamore.
The United Methodist Church was filled with parents and grandparents Sunday to come and see their children/grandchildren taking part in the Christmas Pagent by the Sunday School students, they did a beautiful job, and looked so professional in their new costumes made by Joanne Lanphear and her sister, Thanks to Judy Sorrell for organizing the pagent and all that helped with getting the children ready, it was fantastic and it was enjoyed by all.
The Historical Society's, "Candles and Carols" was well attended Sunday with many taking part in the service, but our music director Mr. Massey was great with his sense of humor, he made the singing of many sound like the tabernacle choir and kept us all on the right note. Delicious refreshments made by Parma Jewett were enjoyed by all and hot cider for our drinking pleasure.
The 50 week club winners were Roslie Labier and Joan Ramey.

As Christmas Day comes near remember the true meaning LOVE, love one another as Jesus loves us.
