It finally arrived today, the much needed rain for us up here near the Canadian border. Most gardens were in much need of rain. I have watered the flower barrels daily since they were planted the latter part of May. Today, John Youland announced at Church during our “Joys and Concerns” that his son Johnny, won the award for best “Sophomore Enginering Student” of the year, at the Tech Center at B.F.A. in St. Albans. We, the Montgomery United Methodist Church Family are very proud and so very happy for you. God Bless!!
Gila Domina enjoyed the company of her son Michael and his friend Sal for the weekend. Michael and Sal planted flowers around the property, cleaned the Red Barn Studio..displayed Mike’s water-color paintings for public viewing during the Summer and Fall while the Studio is open. Mike, while here attended the “Evening Of Art” at the Baptist Church during its first event. Sue Wilson said it was a “Fabulous turnout and absolutely a wonderful group of people came throughout the 5-9 p.m. time.”
The Montgomery Historical Society had 53 people come and attend their Annual Meeting on June 3rd at Pratt Hall where everyone enjoyed delicious food and desserts, prepared by Sam Murphy.
It has been a busy weekend here in Montgomery, this afternoon the Town Library is having a Grand Re-opening. Everyone has been invited to come and see all the changed that have been made and to meet the new Library Director Marlene Stewart. Thanks to the beautiful painting by Louise Luneau, Marijke Dollois and her daughter Suzanne; a quilt on loan from Carol Farmer also beautifies the wall; donation of leather chairs from Jane Pressler; a beautiful Persian rug from Rolf Anderson. In addition they are also appreciative of Robert Gendron’s efforts to build new wooden shelves that will house the donation of historical books from Gordon Brehner. Also today, the Blood Drive is being held at St.Isidore’s Parish Hall. This was also Dairy Festival weekend.
Note: All local schools will close Wednesday, June 8th. PLEASE, to all motorists drive careful as the little ones are so excited to be out riding bikes and playing. NOTE: The Montgomery Day Camp will begin June 21—August 4. There will be plenty of fun things to do for Children entering grades K-6 grades in the Fall. Camp meets every Tuesday-Thursday from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. The camp is free to all Montgomery residents, there will be lunch and snacks provided. Sign-ups are at the Rec. Center on your first day of camp. NOTE:
On June 24 and 25..YOUR HELP IS NEEDED..to come to the school to help put together new Childhood Playground equipment. If you are willing to volunteer..please come for our Community Build day hours between 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.
