7/10, The 60 degree temperature feels cold today, and my fleece is very comforting. But suppose to warm up later this week. We needed the rain. It was nice having our daughter Penny come and have dinner with us and stayed for a visit.
June 24-26, The Enosburg High School class of 1961 celebrated for three days of reminiscing, good food, and lots of laughter. On Friday the 24th there were teams that played golf at Enosburg Golf Course and then after they finished playing they were invited to Bill and Rachel Pattee’s lovely home where they each brought pot-luck to share and Bill and Rachel had a very special dessert, Sugar-on-snow. Saturday everyone gathered at the Summer Set Inn for cocktails before going to the Opera House where everyone had a delicious dinner catered by Lise Gates. Sunday, ended their three day event by going to Cota’s Camp in Montgomery Center. What a wonderful afternoon way up in the hills over looking the valleys below, it was just a perfect three days of beautiful weather. Sandie Cota prepared B-B-Q chicken on the grill and everyone brought pot-luck to share. The person coming the farthest was Denise Lague from South Fort Myers, Florida.
6/26-7/9, Wayne and Terri VanGieson from West Virginia arrived at his parents home on West Hill, Merle and Linda for a two week visit. While they were here the men folks got things done around the yard, went fishing and went out to special places to eat. Linda, daughter-in-law Terri and five nieces went to the Akwesasae Casino in N.Y. and stayed over night, had a wonderful evening by the pool, played cards and a couple of the ladies came home a bit more lucky than when they went. On July 4th Linda’s son Fred Bushey and wife Holly and their daughter Bridgett were up from Florida and spent time with them on West Hill and then Fred and family gathered with his brother Charlie, wife Karen and family, and two sister’s Lori and Sheri for family time at Sheri”s home A very enjoyable time having the family all together.!!!
7/3, The All Saints Super Prize winner’s are as follows, $10,000 was Therese Demar; $2000. Kelly Alderman; $1000. Dennis Paquette; 2 at $500. Debbie and Paul Tower and Kelly Lagasse,; 2 at $250. Eileen Oktavec and Susan Paradis; 3 at $100. Jeff Jackson, Sandy Hurtubise, John Kneen; 4 at $50. Jared Jewett, Claudette& Dan Carswell, Sue Bennett, Lynn and Peter Locher. Therese Begnoche sold most tickets and received $200., she later won the 50/50 raffle of $104., and the prize for selling the winning ticket of the grand prize, another $100. Congratulations to all the winners and the hard work to all that get out and sell tickets to benefit the three Catholic Churches being” Richford, All Saints,” “East Berkshire, Lady of Lourde,” and “Montgomery, St. Isidore’s,” all received $5000. each.
7/4, The Montgomery 4th of July Parade was well organized and thanks to everyone that joined in the festivities with their artistic creations and made the parade a bit longer than usual. Thanks to Mick and Peg Doheny for all their work in planning this event.
7/5, Seven ladies of the Green Mountain Ruby Reds got together in Enosburg and had a nice cool treat at Devon’s Creemee stand before attending the 40th Army Band Concert that was held at the Opera House. It was just wonderful music and the place was full of people enjoying the evening that was FREE to the public.
Bernard Voos son of Klaus and Ann Voos has been here visiting his folks, He makes his home in Pittsburgh, Pa.
In last weeks Montgomery news the name of John and Lynda Cluba’s new grand-daughter was omitted her name is Nyneve Antionette, parents Anthony Gervais and Morgan Cluba.
