9/3..What a change in temperature from day to day, Saturday was the most gorgeous day, bright sunshine, blue skies all day long, although some had frost, not here in the Village. It has been raining most the day so far, the last of Harvey, we hope. Today at Church there were several mentioning, what can we do to help the people in Texas. Pastor Bonnie thought that we would have a SPECIAL COLLLECTION next Sunday. If anyone wanting to donate that does not attend our Church Service could leave it with me, or could send it to Montgomery United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 184, Montgomery, Vt. 05470
8/27.. Kathy King went with her brother Jerry and sister-in-law Cheryl Jewett to the “Field Days” in Essex for the horse draft show. They both took blue ribbons, Jerry in the 4 abreast hitch and Cheryl in the team hitch doing an obstacle course. It was a very enjoyable/fun day.
8/28..Connie McFarland invited her cousin Linda Van Gieson to come with her shopping and to go out and eat in Morrisville and then to visit her sister Theresa Lamore and niece Gail in Hyde Park.
9/2..Jill Sylvester and Graton (Grady) Guyette were united in marriage at Pratt Hall with their Family and Friends in attendance. The marriage was officiated by Pastor Larry Turner. Jill was given in marriage by her father Paul Sylvester and her son Hunter Bosley. Maid of Honor was her daughter Megan Bosley; bridesmaid were sister of the bride Nicole Gendron, friends Marie Tatro, Pam Hauck, and Christine Sylvester; best man was Gary Chadwick, groomsmen were Stanley Demag, Jason Ashline, Joe Cameron and Steve Hauck. The Newly-weds and their friends left the Church on their motor bikes coming around the Village Park with horns blaring..it was so exciting!!! They went on West Hill to take pictures and from there they went to the “Crossing Restaurant” for their reception party. ( Love and laughter, For today, Forever. Wishing you both an eternity of wedded bliss.) Congratulations and Best Wishes!!!
9/2..Sonny and I attended the wonderful “Meadow Party” held by Everett and Sue McGinley on North Hill Road. They had invited many townspeople/ friends to come and enjoy a fun filled evening with Texas 242 BBQ, corn on the cob and for everyone to bring pot-luck to share; music was by “Near North” and also featuring “Red Admiral.” We stayed for 2 hours as I was getting a bit cold, once the sun goes down that air is chilly. But it was so much fun and to get to see so many of our townspeople that we do not see daily was exceptional; the food was plentiful and so delicious. As we were leaving the moon was about ready to give off light in the night sky, by the time we were home it was shining but not quite a full moon as Sue and Everett like, but what a perfect night. Our very Sincere Thanks to Sue and Everett for sharing their generosity, their kindness and their warm and welcoming FRIENDSHIP.
9/2.. There were 15 vendors that came at the “Farmer’s Market” to sell their produce, jewelry, quilts, plants, honey, soaps, breads, syrup, sweet rolls, and Montgomery History Books and T-Shirts, etc. Also the Farmers Market will continue each Saturday in September the last one being on the 30th.
Please Note: On September 16, the Library, Friends of the Library, and the Historical Society are partnering to host a “PUPPET SHOW” for kids of all ages by “Modern Times Theater” starting at 7 p.m. Free-donations at the door.
The United Methodist Women have scheduled their Fall Rummage and Bake Sale for October 7, 2017, starting at 8 a.m. – 2 p.m. We will be accepting clothes during this month. This will help out as it becomes a bit much the week of the SALE.
