CONGRATULATIONS to Elle Purrier, won her first NCAA National Championship in the mile race at the NCAA Indoor Championship in College Station, Texas. I then read about your achievements in the County Courier and want to extend our Congratulations and Best Wishes. We are all proud of you Elle!!

3/12..The Springtime Community Luncheon” was held at the Community Center For Arts (upstairs hall). There were many Community Members coming to enjoy a delicious hot meal. Thanks to the ones preparing the four different kinds of soup, breads, cookies, coffee, OJ, and water. Our cooks were Sharon Perry, Sue Baddorf, and Joey Buttendorf making the soups, Wendy Howard making bread and cookies. I had a wonderful time meeting some of the people I had not met before and that was good for me. I met our librarian Madeline Humbleton and her handsome nine month old son Leo, I held him while his Mommy ate dinner and then when she finished he woke up and wanted his lunch. I met George Kernan, he now resides with his daughter Maryann Woods, found out on the way home that he was celebrating his 93rd Birthday, SO, Wendy and I sang Happy Birthday to him. Then I met Kenny Miller, reacquainted myself with Val Schadinger, and a lovely young Miss Chloe Hardy, she came volunteering to help clean-up. It was all so well organized and everyone had a wonderful time, the fellowship time was amazing, so enjoyable. A very SPECIAL THANKS to all for your kindness and thoughtfulness. What a wonderful start for a Monday!! And it wasn’t snowing.
3/12..When I arrived home and coming across my front lawn a car drove up and needed information, she and her daughter were looking for a Supermarket, I directed her back to the Center, for Sylvesters. But one word lead to another and I asked where she was from and she said “Honolulu” she met up with her daughter in Canada and came down to Jay to go skiing. She said that they were down here when we got a big storm a few years ago and Jay got 4 feet of snow. I said “well we have our 3 storm on the way for this week, it could happen again.” They were so pleasant and nice to talk too. Maybe I should open an information booth??? When I worked at the Post office several people come in wanting info about something here in Montgomery. It sure is a beautiful little town!!
3/13… Our 500 Card Club was held at the Dairy Center Restaurant with Sue Peters as our March hostess. We gathered for 11:30 and once we were all there we ate Chicken-n-biscuit dinner and Sue had prepared a Crème-de-menthe dessert that was so delicious. We were ready to play cards around 12:30 and we were playing our last 6 rounds of cards and will go back to 8 in April. It worked out good for March as we were getting the snow dumped on us from our 3rd Nor’easter storm and just heard there is a 4th one heading up the coast. The highest score went to Marge Cummings 3400; second high was Linda Van Gieson 3240; low score to Denise Baker with 880; and Lois Lumbra had most horses 5. Subs for the afternoon were Rita St.Onge playing for Sue Cherrier, and Helen Parent playing for Lorraine Gillis, both absent ladies were in Florida, a good place to be!!! Sue had prepared veggies and fruit platters and dips, candy and cashews, for snacking and in addition she gave each of us a homemade St. Patricks bowl for treats or could be worn for a hat and we did, and then she gave us a shamrock necklace. Thanks so much Sue for all your kindness!! We were all very appreciative to Lise Gates and Crew for welcoming us to have our card party there, we all enjoyed the afternoon and the restaurant was so well decorated for St. Patricks Day, THANK-YOU!!! Our April hostess will be Jeannette Sylvester at her home in St. Albans.

Its always a wonderful and enjoyable get together.

Now that he is older he still does but now its to put on his shirt, pants and shoes.** Hope you all have enjoyed the nice white stuff we got this last week, truthfully it has settled down so fast with the nice sunshine we have received Saturday and Sunday afternoon.
