What a wonderful day this turned out to be, the weather is absolutely beautiful this afternoon, after a cold start this morning, many had frost around town, but right here we did not have a frost. We had five new people join the United Methodist Church today during the morning worship time, Lyndol and Lila Elkins, Frank and Linda Elkins and Nord Hovermann, Frank Elkins was baptized also. We enjoyed fellowship after the service down in the Fellowship Room with Zucchini Bread, Ice Cream Cake and beverage. Congratulations and Welcome, God Bless!! Alissa Hardy also came to our Church Service today and answered questions of concerned people in regards to Montgomery Thrives..The meeting on this event will take place on Tuesday, September 25.
Today I had prepared a Birthday dinner for Penny (9/25), Veronica DeSaintPhalle came over and joined us. Then we chatted awhile before they had to leave.
9/17.. Linda Van Gieson invited me to accompany her to Enosburg, where we both had banking and shopping to do. Once we were done shopping downtown, we went to McDonalds to have a treat, and
as we sit down to enjoy it, a lady came walking toward me, and asked are you sister to Shirley Corse White,
and I said Yes, then she told me who she was, Shirley Smith Maynard from Bakersfield. She and my sister graduated from Cambridge High School and were in the band there, etc. I asked her and her husband Leon to sit with us and chat. It seems that she is mother-in-law to a young lady that grew up here in town Stacey Clokey..she married their son Willie Maynard, and Willie works with my nephew Tim White, they repair heavy equipment . It was nice that she came up for a visit and then she told me how much she enjoys reading this column. That is always nice to hear..Thank You!!!
9/15-19. Connie McFarland and friend Rachel Wright from Lowell went with a small group of people on the Champlain Tour bus to Cape Cod. The visited several tourist attractions, went to Nantucket Island, Province Town, the botanical gardens, it was exceptional Connie told me, she has always wanted to go there for a visit, it was one of her dreams. She also told me the weather was beautiful while they were there. The food, the fellowship, was all great and Connie was the eldest in the group and she said she kept up with them. One lady complimented her, she hopes she is that energetic when she reaches 88. Amazing, as I know very well she is so self reliable. God Bless her!!!

**A lady was in line at the grocery store with just a few items 14 or less; and another lady with her cart piled high came right in from of the first lady heading to the counter. The cashier noticed the cart full of items and asked very nicely, Lady which 14 items do you want to purchase.** The lady probably did not notice the sign 14 item or less..this has happened to many of us..I’m Sure. Enjoy..have a nice week. M.L.T.A.
