I will get going and finish up this column. I was watching a little of Highway thru Hell..with Jamie Davis huge wreckers getting those big –big trucks that crash on the highway that becomes covered with snow and ice. Seems like they would close the highway down when the weather gets so bad. This comes on the weather channel every now and then. Anyhow getting back to my news, its is rather cold here this afternoon and snow flurries out on the hills and probably Jay Peak. This is the coldest day we have had since Spring. Just a little sample of what is coming.
October has become the month for the Green Mountain Ruby Reds to be attending plays. An added treat has been the beautiful Fall foliage on our journey to the events. In Hyde Park we saw the humorous “All Shook Up” and enjoyed a bite at Hoagies in Morrisville. Our next event was in Enosburg at the “Opera House” where we watched, “Rumors” as we sat and laughter some more. Our third event was over Jay Peak, we saw a sign at the Sacred Heart Church in Troy, that they were having a pork roast dinner and we stopped . There was an abundance of food and hospitality and a Priest who moonlights as a photographer. Thank You for taking such nice pictures of the Red Hattes and we even had someone take a picture of him with us ladies. From there we ventured to the “Haskell Opera House “ in Derby and enjoyed the play “Mousetrap” a murder mystery and So help me I can not tell you who done it. (Notes from Diane Bocian..Thanks)
Elementary School: The after School Program (LEAPS) Girls Club is collecting warm socks during the month of October entitled “Socktober.” They have collection boxes at the school so you can drop them off there or send them to school with one of the children that attend. Their goal is to collect 75 pair of warm socks to be given to the Shelter in St.Albans. For more information contact Renee Roddy at the school 326-4618. What a nice gesture for our School Children to do. Thank You and they will be so appreciated.
This is the second event: “LIGHTS ON AFTER SCHOOL OPEN HOUSE” to be held this Thursday, October 25, from 3 :30 – 5 p.m. Come and see what all the fun things we do after our school classes are over for the day.
Sincere Sympathy to the Marrier Family in the loss of their Mother/Grandmother/ Sister/Aunt, Betty Marrier. This week we have had two cremation burials at the Village Cemetery, Joshua (Jack) Bennett and Agatha East. When the Lord calls our Loved Ones home, He leaves a gift of memories in exchange. Take comfort in knowing that your family and Friends share your loss. God Bless each and every one of you.

**A woman driver made an illegal turn, the officer ordered her to pull over and gave her a ticket. Anxious to keep her husband from learning the true facts during his monthly audit of the checkbook, she marked the stub, “ONE PULLOVER, $25.” This is all folks, hope everyone enjoyed the Turkey Dinner that was held at St.Isidore’s Parish Hall today.
