2/26..Brrrr! was just outside for a few minutes saying good-bye to our daughters Veronica and Penny as they headed out. It was a SURPRISE when Veronica came, but a very nice surprise as she has not been over for sometime. Brother, that storm came in with a heavy rain Saturday night, it had warnings of flooding on tv and with that rain coming down that hard it would not have taken long to flood our brooks and rivers. But it did not last long here and slowed right down to a rain shower, and then to snow. But today is a drastic change in temperature, the wind is soooo cold.
2/20..Susie Ewins and Grace Jones got together with their sister Maggie Elkins and treated her to a late birthday luncheon in St.Albans and then they did a little shopping. As usual when they get to-gether they have a wonderful time. It won’t be long and they will be out golfing !!!
2/21..The fire-trucks went through town and headed up Black Falls Road, I later found out that the home of Mike Baillargeon had burned to the ground. This was where Carol Durfee used to live. It was nearly gone when the fire department arrived.
2/23.. Lise Gates from the Dairy Center and her helpers prepared a dinner for the Family and Friends of Gaston Begnoche. Everyone was welcomed to come and have dinner at St.Isidore’s Parish Hall following the funeral service, that was held at St. Isidore’s Catholic Church with Rev. Karl Hahr celebrating the Mass of Christian burial. Ladies of St.Isidore’s were on hand to help out during the dinner fellowship and clean-up. (Thanks to all for your kindness, it has been gratefully appreciated)

Just for laughs*** an elderly man went out to a bar one evening and a rather hefty lady was dancing on the table. He speaks to her saying “Nice Legs”. She said “ you think so.” He said, “definitely! Most tables would have collapsed by now.” **( I think he is lucky to be alive) This is all for this week folks. L.T.A.
The Library Board of Trustees agenda has been posted below. Note: Due to weather conditions, the regular Monday, Feb. 13th library meeting has been changed to Monday, February 20th at 6:30 PM.

Been quite a week for all of us, with all the new snow that piled up day after day; and then with the two warm days over the weekend, the snow piles have melted away. Saturday was such a gorgeous day, we had some of the doors opened to let the sunshine in and it felt soooo good. Today, Sunday has been warm but gloomy with all the clouds hanging around and it goes along with my mood, GLOOMY! Today at our Church meeting our Pastor let us know that he will be leaving our church the end of June. Pastor Ed Sorrell has been with us almost 16 years at this time. A new year would begin in July. We are deeply saddened but we also realize that his new job is important to him and we all will wish him well. He just has to cut down somewhere. Also, we are in need of a new organist, we need someone for our Sunday service from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. If you are interested call Merle at 326-4536 or me (Lois) at 326-4651.
2/14..Lise Gates and her crew prepared a delicious Valentine’s Day Dinner for the all senior citizens that made reservations to attend. Thanks to Lise and all her helpers for a job well done. Lise said that she will have an Easter Dinner and date will be announced later.
2/16..The St.Onge family returned back home safe and sound from Jamaica, where they had gone to attend the wedding of Scott and Kristen (Harvey) St.Onge. They were enjoying nice warm weather while we were getting snow every day. It has been light stuff..therefore it has melted down rather rapidly.
Montgomery had lost another Town figure this week, Gaston Begnoche has passed away. (Have hope in tomorrow, have faith in the everlasting, and take comfort in the Love of Family and Friends. God Bless you all!!)
The 2016 Town Reports are ready and can be picked up at Sticks Country store here in the Village, and at the School, Town Library, Town Clerks Office. (Congrats to Sue Wilson)
Note: Reminder of the POT-LUCK suppers that will start on March 4 and every Saturday night during the Lenten Season, at St.lsidore’s Parish Hall, hosted by the Knights of Columbus. Bring a favorite dish and come and join everyone for great food and fellowship, starting at 6:30 p.m.
I noticed that I got ahead of myself on my Birthday Calendar. Sorry!!
**This story was told to me by a local reader and I hope you see the humor as I did and so did she. I will call her Janet. She had planned to go out and do errands, shopping, banking, etc. This particular day was rather cold and she decided to wear her down-coat and keep nice and warm. Every place of business she went to, she noticed little feathers fluttering around, and Janet mentioned them as she was checking out at the third place of business. The clerk noticed that there was a small rip in the coat and mentioned to Janet that was probably where the little feathers were coming from. That was almost hysterical and had never occurred to Janet that they were coming from her coat. Janet has a great sense of humor and just laughed and thought it was funny. Yes, the coat got mended no more little feathers fluttering around. ** This is all for this week folks and remember if you have news and want to share it. REMEMBER ME at 326-4651 or email me at email@example.com. Thanks to D.C. for letting me know you enjoy this column and is a faithful reader. God Bless!!!
2/12/17. The storm came in right on schedule with the weatherman predictions. It is now a little after 3 p.m. and it is intensifying as I come on line to finish this column. I have my shovel handy for Monday morning. Just hope it’s not the heavy-heavy snow. If it is I will have to go slow. I had a phone call from Lynda Cluba this week and it was nice hearing from her as she has been away to spend some time with her family in S.C. Welcome home Lynda!!
Thanks to the 26 donors that came out to support our blood drive on 2/5 at St. Isidore’s Parish Hall. Our next drive is scheduled for April 9, starting at 10 a.m.-2 p.m. and walk-ins are always welcomed.

**Why did the banana go out with a prune? Because it couldn’t find a date.** ** Marriage is like a deck of cards. In the beginning you need two hearts and a diamond. By the end you wish you had a club and a spade.*** This is all for this time folks. Please share you news with me..at firstname.lastname@example.org (L.T.A.)
