How many of us senior citizens have put away our ice skates? WOW!!! We have had so much ice and its dangerous as its so slippery. We have put ashes out and I have managed to walk down our sidewalk. The back roads have been icy as well, Saturday night the rain washed off the sand that had been put on the dirt roads. Just can’t seem to get ahead of it. It does seem nice to have warmer temperatures.

1/24..We had a visit from our daughter Veronica deSaintPhalle from 10 a.m. until noon. She came to Montgomery, as she and her friend Barbara Burns had plans to go out and celebrate Christmas and Birthdays. They went to Bernie’s restaurant where they had a wonderful lunch, lots of laughter and exchange of gifts. It was a beautiful afternoon.
1/24..SURPRISE..only one person rings my doorbell so frantically and that is Michelle Legault. I was totally surprised as I did not know that she was coming in from Louisiana. She was just arriving in town and wanted to stop by and visit for a few minutes. She has been gone for a few months and just loves it out there and found so many interesting things to do. She was radiant with her new life. We are so happy for her and Jake. They both have nice jobs and near enough to see her parents, who are in Florida for a little while.
1/25.. Nimble-Thimble quilting group met at Jeannette Sylvester’s home in St. Albans, with their lunch bags, and drinks where they all ate together. They welcomed Jeannette as their new treasurer and thanked Caroline Babcock for all the many years she gave to the group. They also welcomed a new member, Suzanne Lavalla who was new to them, but definitely not new to quilting. She fit right in. They all worked on Hotdog pillow-slips for charity. They needed about 100 and exceeded that goal readily. The group worked on pillow-slips teaching each other as they went along. Sunshine quilts, they have 24 of our 25 goal for the year made. Our next meeting, they will work on microwave holders and pot-holders. It would be neat to be a fly on the wall and listen to this group as they work like bees, laugh and sew those beautiful stitches, (and keeping each other in stitches) amazing at all the nice things they do for others.
